Indication illegal

The fiscal stamp is mandatory for all e-liquids on the Belgian market, both with and without nicotine. No stamp means the excise duty obligation has not been met.

Illegal

Disposable vapes have been completely banned in Belgium since 1 January 2025, even if they no longer contain liquid at the point of sale.

Electronic cigarettes may not have attractive features that are not functionally necessary. This explicitly applies to LED lights and colour changers.

Reservoirs and cartridges for e-liquid may hold a maximum of 2 ml, with or without nicotine.

Indication illegal

The mandatory nicotine warning is missing. This text must appear in three national languages on at least 30% of the two largest side panels.

The Poison Control Centre number (070 245 245) is mandatory on all nicotine-containing vaping products.

An ECID (European registration number) is missing. This means the product has not been notified and is therefore prohibited on the Belgian market.

The flavour name consists of multiple words. Belgian legislation allows a maximum of one word, in Helvetica, black or white, maximum 10pt.

Illegal

Nicotine-containing e-liquids may contain a maximum of 10 ml per bottle.

The maximum nicotine concentration is 20 mg/ml. A higher content is prohibited.

Bottles over 100 ml are uncommon and may not be compliant. Consult the FPS trade guide.

Found compliant

Your product shows no direct signs of non-compliance based on the checked criteria.

One more step: check the positive list

For a definitive confirmation, check whether your product is registered on the official positive list of the FPS Public Health. If your product is on the list, the manufacturer has fulfilled their notification obligation and the product may be legally sold on the Belgian market.
