VapeCheck is an initiative of Vapebel vzw, the Belgian trade association for the vaping sector. Vapebel acts as the data controller for the personal data collected through this website.

What data do we collect?

VapeCheck is an informational website. We collect as little personal data as possible.

Server log files

With each visit to the website, the web server automatically records:

  • Your IP address (stored anonymised)
  • Date and time of the visit
  • The pages visited
  • Browser type and operating system
  • The referring website (referrer)

This data is used exclusively for technical management and security of the website. It is not linked to identifiable individuals.

Contact details

If you contact us by email, we only store your name and email address to answer your question.

Check your Vape

The interactive tool "Check your Vape" does not store any data. All answers are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to our server.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website.

Necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the basic functionality of the website (session, language preference). They cannot be disabled.

Analytical cookies

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous visitor statistics. IP addresses are anonymised before processing. These cookies are only placed with your consent.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the basis of the following legal grounds (Article 6 GDPR):

  • Consent: analytical cookies are only placed after your explicit consent.
  • Performance of a request: when you contact us, we process your data to answer your question.

Retention periods

  • Server log files: maximum 90 days
  • Contact details: up to 12 months after the last contact
  • Analytical data: 26 months (Google Analytics default)

Sharing with third parties

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • Hosting provider: for the technical operation of the website.
  • Google Analytics: for anonymous visitor statistics (under a data processing agreement).

No data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Your rights
